Canvas Early Learning Center
Information for Parents
The Southwest Montana Arts Council is excited to open Dillon's only arts-centered Early Learning Center.
We have named it Canvas; just as a canvas is the foundation for a work of art, early childhood education
is that same foundation for our children. With Canvas, we hope to continue to meet one of our primary goals:
to promote education and participation in the arts, with a
particular emphasis on the needs of the children in our region.
Canvas ELC staff
Aaron Cashmore, Director
Aaron ran the Head Start program in Dillon for 15 years and also worked at Curious Minds on the UMW campus.
In addition to her work with Canvas ELC, she teaches and advises in the Early Education program at UMW.
Randi Braddock, Lead Teacher
Randi has a degree in Early Childhood Multicultural Education from the University of New Mexico.
She has experience as a daycare lead teacher and a first grade teacher.
Brooklyn Bennett, Assistant Teacher
Brooklyn has an associate of applied science degree in Early Childhood Education from UMW
and is currently pursuing her K-12 Art Education degree.
Christina Schmidt, Teacher Aide
Christina has a degree in Elementary Education from UMW. Her experience includes working as the
Environmental Education Coordinator at UMW's Birch Creek Center.
Canvas ELC accepts Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarships. For more information, visit their site.
For more information, contact 406-723-4016.
Canvas ELC is located at 120 N. Montana Street in Dillon (in the former Shine Studio).
